Seven Slings Review
by Jamie

I received a discount code from Parenting.com for a Seven Sling. With the discount code I was able to purchase the sling for only the shipping and return insurance cost. So I jumped on the chance. I am so glad I did. I just love this sling. At first I had to go over the directions a couple times to get it right but eventually we got him in it and he fell straight to sleep. He loves riding in his sling. I even put him in it to do dishes or other chores around the house. This is great sling for the price and I am very pleased with my purchase. Thank you for letting me write this review on your site.

Baby K’tan Review
by Ellen

I just purchased the Baby K’tan Carrier as a second carrier for me and my daughter. We live in a town with a lot of steep hills so I generally prefer wearing her to taking her in a stroller. I also have a soft structured carrier that I love but it doesn’t allow a forward facing front infant position. My daughter wanted to look out more, so I went ahead and got this. So far I love the baby k’tan and I do wish I bought it when she was still a small infant!

Pros:
1) The Baby K’tan has a lot of wearable positions (7 I think) and you can even wear twins!  All of the positions that I’ve tried have been easy to do and comfortable for both me and my daughter.
2) Although it is similar to a Moby Wrap, this carrier is easier and quicker to use and navigate.  Since it was just me using this, I wanted to buy something simple.
3) I can leave the carrier on all day and just slide my daughter in and out of it at will without taking the carrier off. This is particularly useful when grocery shopping in the winter! I don’t have to take my coat off to get into the carrier.
4) Since it is made from a simple Jersey it is easy to wash.
5) For a wrap style carrier, it distributes weight surprisingly well. But, it is not as good as a soft structured carrier.

Cons:
1) Because this is made from Jersey the carrier stretches well and can get stretched out. As a result, I wouldn’t recommend using it for heavier/older children (particularly if you plan to reuse it with another infant).
2) You purchase it by your size so it cannot be shared among different adults of different clothing sizes. My husband cannot wear this carrier and if I change sizes or the carrier stretches out it will no longer be usable.
3) While it does have a back position, I wouldn’t recommend using it. The Jersey is too stretchy. I find my daughter can push herself quite far back in it. I am not comfortable wearing her on my back where I can’t see her do that and react accordingly.
4) While inexpensive as far as carriers go, it is more expensive than the Moby which does the same carrying positions.

Beco Butterfly 2 Review
by Ellen

I live in a town with a LOT of hills and when I got pregnant I knew that I would prefer wearing my baby over navigating the steep hills with a stroller. As a result I researched a lot of carriers to find one that I would have a lot of use with and would safely support my baby from infancy to toddlerhood. I optimistically hoped I could find one carrier to do it all.

I basically found that with the Beco Butterfly 2. Now, five months after my baby is born, I am still happy that I found that carrier.

Pros:
1. The Beco carrier has a really long lifespan and comes with the infant insert standard. My daughter fit in it very comfortably starting when she was two  weeks old. I wore her around the house and out of the house quite a lot in that first month and it still fits her comfortably now.
2. The Beco fits me and my husband both well. I’m very petite (5′ 2″) and the ErgoBaby carrier was too wide for my shoulders. My husband is over 6′ and it fits him really well too.
3. You don’t have to take the baby out of the carrier if you are passing the baby to another adult.
4. The carrier is really comfortable and supports weight very well.
5. It has buckles instead of ties so my husband was willing to wear her in it.  He thought ties were too “feminine.”
6. The carrier is washable.

Cons:
1. The Butterfly 2 only has an inward facing front position and a back position. Babies cannot face outward or be worn on the hip. When my daughter hit 3 months she wanted to see more but was too small for the back position. I ended up having to buy a second carrier so I could wear her on my hip or in the forward position.
2. While doable, it is fairly uncomfortable to nurse in.
3. Is pricier than the ErgoBaby, but if you are looking to use from infancy it is actually as good of a deal as the Ergo plus the Ergo infant insert (sold separately).
4. The hood isn’t that great. My daughter has gotten wet because she can easily move her head away from the hood.
